How to ensure a safe environment

Schools are a place where children from many different families come together for extended period of times. For this reason, if any child is ill, it is highly likely that other children (and staff) may become sick as well.

In order to safeguard the health of all individuals at the school, the following a few guidelines that must be followed:

  1. Children that are sick or ill should remain home.
  2. Children should not return to the school until they are free of all symptoms for at least a full day without the aid of any medicines.
  3. Parents must ensure that any siblings that may be affected by the illness are also kept home if they are symptomatic.

Do we need a doctor’s note

If the child will be out of school for three or more days, then a doctor’s note is required. The parents must also produce a doctor’s note stating that it is safe for the student to return for illnesses that may seem contagious, even a rash.
